Radio had a great many entertaining genres, but it also had news. This was extremely important during WW II as it was the first time Americans heard what was happening, in many cases, while it was happening. They no longer had to wait to read it in the paper the next day. This was REAL TIME. I put together segments that I call "History Through the Radio" and this is one of those segments. As we approach the 44th anniversary of Richard Nixon's resignation from the presidency....here is his speech and another speech that took place one month later... Gerald Ford, pardoning Richard Nixon.
