Description

This is a radio adaptation of Daphne du Maurier's horror story, "The Birds." first published in 1952. It was adapted for CBS Radio Network's Anthology series "Hollywood Presents Lux Radio Theatre." The show was renamed and rebroadcasts on the Armed Forces Radio Service... that is the broadcast on this track with Don Wilson as the announcer rather than Cecil B. DeMille who was on the original broadcast. This is the same story that Alfred Hitchcock made into a motion picture in 1963 that starred Rod Taylor, Jessica Tandy, Suzanne Pleshette and Tippi Hedren. The audio intro gives background on the anthology series and identifies the cast members in this fine radio adaptation. This will live in the playlist "Horror/Suspense".
