Description

Dimension X and X-Minus one were two of the top Sci-Fi series heard on radio. X-Minus One was broadcast from April 24, 1955 to January 9, 1958 in various timeslots on NBC. It is amazing that the show was as popular as it was because NBC consistently moved the show to different times and on different days! It was known for its high production values, excellent scripts and superb acting.. Writers Ernest Kinoy and George Lefferts were NBC staff writers who adapted many of the shows from published science fiction writers including Isaac Asimov, Ray Bradbury, Philip Dick, Frederik Pohl, and Theodure Sturgeon. The opening countdown blastoff was one of the most popular of all radio openings...This track features "Shock Troop" from Nov. 28, 1957. A microscopic alien race expands its empire not by conquering worlds, but by waging aggressive campaigns to seize control of individual minds and bodies from within. This is the story for one such war to 'colonize' a human body! Enjoy and thanks for listening to Heirloom Radio on Soundcloud.com
