This song is called "Eggless Omelette" (or Omelet if you prefer), it along with "Regression of Fate" & "Gratefully Screwed" is part of the New Year's 2013 JFRocks.com recording sessions aka what we refer to as "The Erica's Living Room Sessions / One more day up in the canyon, One more night in Hollywood" sessions. There are actually 2 more songs we did over the period from Jan 1 to Jan 7 2013 which you guys will get to hear soon I'm sure. FYI - Though I wrote "Suffer the Bitches" suffering in "Suffurgatory" around this same time I wrote the others, it was actually recorded much earlier back around Thanksgiving 2012'ish so it's not technically part of the "New Year's" Erica's Living Room sessions.
As for why this song is called "Eggless Omelette" well suffice as to say most of the song titles I come up with for any instrumentals I write are a reflection on some level of what's happening in my life at any given moment. That said feel free to infer what you like from this song's title. Or even better just ignore the title and crank the darn thing up to 11...
This is a classic hook riff style piece, meaning it has a hook that makes you dive for the volume knob. Actually the song as 3 hooks, all of which make you dive for the volume knob, which is the point of a hook. That being said, I'll likely either sell this song to an artist who wants to record it, or I'm sure I can license this song all day long to TV music supervisors and or filmmakers here in Los Angeles.. Of course as always it's free for you JFRocks.com fans for as long as I can legally keep it that way..
"Eggless Omelette" is very much rooted in my own playing style. While there are some Vito Bratta and Van Halen type influences here, those are the players that influenced me. Since I often get asked by JFRocks.com fans what I play when I pick up a guitar for fun, I'll simply say here that "Eggless Omelette" is a great example of what I might noodle around with on my couch at home.. It actually started out as an acoustic coffee-house unplugged piece I did with a friend of mine who I help out with gigs from time to time here locally in Los Angeles.. I then adapted it to the hard Rock riffed out electric piece you have before you here on SoundCloud..
