"Suffer the Bitches" is an ASS-Whoopin Van Halen inspired piece that's really a throw-back to early Van Halen along the lines of On Fire from VH 1 and Unchained from Fair Warning.
Usually when I write a song be it an instrumental or something for a vocalist, there’s some concept I have in mind which is helping me to craft the mood of the piece. We deal with this topic quite a lot in the “Songwriting 101” lesson series at JFRocks.com. As I’ve said before these “concepts” or “ideas” usually come from simple things that happen around us all day long. The phrase, “Suffer the Bitches” was definitely ringing in my head as this song came together… The riffing itself is a little “Bitchy”.. It’s choppy, and the drums are a bit on the angry side…
