The easier way to productively move from an idea through to monetisation or other recognition of the value of that idea is to follow three steps:
1) Get Inspired!
2) Wait for the Motivation to fuel the activity you'll need to invest to develop the idea into a viable product or service
3) Take that action!
Following the AIM Cycle in this order may be pleasant, but it would crush many projects before they were completed.
Why?
Because you'd be waiting for two elements you can't easily control: the inspiration and the motivation.
A far more consistent strategy is to begin with action - just start!
Using writing as an example, I talk about daring to write what might turn out to be 200 words that are unusable.
This act of courage 'primes the pump' allowing Inspiration and Motivation to catch up! The result will often be that inspiration will kick in and the motivation to continue typing. 800 words worthy of publication will begin to flow through your fingertips!
However, there is a third way. This is to put yourself in the ideal circumstances to 'catch' Inspiration and Motivation.
