Lizzy Amos has been kind enough to encourage me on numerous occasions so I have recorded this reading of Spike Milligan's, "Silly Old Baboon," to bring a smile to her weekend.

Whilst the poem is called, "Silly Old Baboon," the baboon is far from silly. He has a rare talent for running. He is trying to get to the Moon using the wrong strategy but we can nevertheless applause him for what he is good at. All of us can look silly when we use our talents in the wrong place or for the wrong cause or for the wrong reason... However, we all possess a unique talent and finding that talent is the secret of learning to shine. And when we shine, we experience true joie d vivre.

“Everyone is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.”
