Proverbs 17:17 tells us “a brother is born for adversity.” There are several examples of adversity in the Bible – Job suffered the loss of everything in his life except his wife yet he maintained his integrity. In 2 Corinthians 12:7-10, Paul mentions his “thorn in the flesh” and says it is a messenger of Satan. In fact, the name “Satan” means “the adversary.”
This study by guest speaker Tim Copeland looks at why God allows us to suffer adversity and why it is a work for good.
