Ntsikelelo Mavata (27), from Rhamnyiba in the Eastern Cape. When he left his village to pursue his studies in Documentaries and Drama for TV in Jo’burg and later Cape Town, he knew he would always come back home and tell the stories there. His interest in storytelling dates back to his early childhood, where his vivid imagination was nourished by the optimistic folktales his grandmother would use to teach him life’s principles and morals. He is the founder of Kwanontsomi Enterprise, which is rooted on the outskirts of King Williams Town, in the rural Eastern Cape. The company aims to inspire their community through film.
