—Jay Walker, co-founder of the Reclaim Pride Coalition and founding member of Gays Against Guns and Alex Vitale, a Brooklyn College professor and author of “The End of Policing.” They talk about the NYPD’s move to place early curfews on popular public parks. On June 5, the NYPD sent hundreds of riot police into Washington Square Park to push everyone out by 10 pm.
—Neelu Shruti, a birth justice advocate, midwifery student, the founder of Love Child and the author of ‘Black mothers Matter’ for The Indypendent. She talks about Black mothers and midwives and how New York State can begin to reverse longstanding racist policies and practices that have allowed the medical industry to maximize profits off of childbirth while doing great harm.
