There was a big turnout for last evening's Peaine Township Board meeting with folks there to support township funding for bocce and pickleball courts in the township park. The Michigan Board of canvassers has certified a petition to repeal the 1945 law used for most of last year's COVID-19 orders from the governor. And it looks like some unemployment benefits were paid by mistake--while others who should have been paid had claims denied. Perfect summer weather in the forecast for today, but we could see heavy rain this evening--up to an inch--as a big storm skirts us to the south. On the calendar, Bevar Island Music Festival kicks off this evening with Brother Crowe. Pretty much non-stop music for three days starts tomorrow at noon.
