The Center for Disease Control and Prevention estimates that about 300,000 Americans are infected with Lyme disease each year, between reported and unreported cases. This year, health officials are expecting the worst tick season ever as warmer weather is giving deer ticks a longer lifespan.

Connecticut is one of the 14 state the CDC says 96% of all U.S. Lyme disease cases occur. The other 13 states include Delaware, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia and Wisconsin.
