Silas is a Connecticut-born, very talented musician who now lives in Austin. His family frequently volunteered during WPKN fundraising when Silas was a kid, and it was great to welcome back as a mature and very accomplished artist. You can dance to his alt-country music, but he also has a wicked wit and a sharply honed political edge. He was influenced as a kid by hanging out with performing groups such as Bread and Puppet Theater who believe that art must be politically incisive as well as artistically fulfilling.
