Description

Gary Dunning is director of The Forests Dialogue, housed at the Yale School of Forestry & Environmental Studies, which describes itself as "a platform and process" for focused dialogue among all interested parties on "the most pressing local and global issues facing forests and people." We talked about the rights of indigenous people to their lands and how that's being challenged by other players -- including governments and private enterprises -- and how his group's efforts have played out. We also talked a little about REDD (Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and forest Degradation) as a way to address the climate crisis.
