New Haven writer Alice Mattison, the author of numerous books of short stories, novels, and books of poetry, spoke about her evolution as a writer, her work as a writing teacher, and some upcoming writing workshops. Her most recent books include a guide for writers: The Kite and the String: How to Write with Spontaneity and Control—and Live to Tell the Tale.
