This song starts out about the loss of a love but then morphs into the previous abuse before the relationship ends. I started writing it as a love letter to all those who have lost loved ones recently and how you cannot right the wrongs of things that happened before your lover’s passing. It is also about how a man controls a woman. Even with our fight for equality things are always different behind closed doors.
