Portuguese DJ and producer Diogo Tavares aka Protyv is fast becoming a regular feature here at CZ as he delivers his 7th slice of techno goodness for our listening pleasure, his previous outings here have included both original material and a raft of top notch remixes. It's no wonder this guy produces such quality, from a young age he was learning music from his family and by learning the piano. In 2004 he found electronic music and the transition was effortless given his talents from years of practice. Always great to see his work coming through the inbox and we're sure we'll see much more in the months and years ahead. Protyv enters an experimental realm here as three diverse tracks get underway. First up we have Stuck which intros with soft plucky synths before more sharper tones start to emerge. A nice and punchy kick drum soon follows and we begin a journey deep into techno that will hypnotize and mesmerize. Nice and tight drums seal up this stomper that is not to be missed. Next we have Psicadelia that sets out with a looping synth pattern as a rising FX ebbs and flows to the fading in hats and ultimately takes us to full on shuffling sequences. A pumping kick drum comes through and takes over the groove as each sound finds its place. Remnants of early techno characteristics are on display here making this a definite dancefloor monster. Rounding up this fine release we have Cien which takes an ethereal approach with surreal synths and rich fleeting pads. The intro builds and builds before a thumping techno beat takes over leading us into deeper territory. A superb slice that offers up a trippy experience, perfect for any late night set.
