Petri Petro - Brain Control (CZ)
Established artist Petri Petro debuts on CZ with the superb Brain Control which delivers a solid techno offering that does not disappoint. Petri has been churning out quality cuts for a number of years now and is a very much respected producer on the scene. We're used to seeing this guy over at Bonzai Basiks where he gave us some memorable moments. Delighted to have him at CZ and we hope to see more in the future.
Brain Control takes no prisoners as it launches into a full on dark techno groove from the get go. Pounding kick drums with a heavy sub after taste lead the charge alongside a gritty hi hat to give that industrial edge. Scathing synths deliver a gnarly vibe that will hit the floors hard getting fists pumping. An underlying acid line lurks teasing us as it filters in and out making this a definite must have for any late night session.
Secret Spirit intros with a seriously chunky kick drum filled with lashings of sub level frequencies. Shuffling percussions slice through the low end as a hypnotic synth note fades in. The intensity is evident throughout as that simple yet highly effective synth digs deep into your soul. The background noises are chilling adding a haunting vibe. This one definitely resides in the darker echelons of techno and will surely be a welcome addition in any set.
