Luke 18:31 – 43. We don’t have to be in a room with no light to feel we’re in the dark. We can feel it in a situation where we lack information, or when we simply feel left out. The story of Bartimaeus is one of a man who figures out he is in the dark in more ways than one. Though the obvious darkness is his blindness, Bartimaeus learns that he is spiritually blind and Jesus is just the one who can bring him into the light.
David Seccombe reminds us of what joy it is to be a Christian as he delves into Luke’s Gospel. David expertly tells the Story of Bartimaeus and brings to life what this character could of have been like and what he may have experienced. This is a riveting sermon and one that leaves us all asking how Jesus can be the light of our lives.
