Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth… The Bible quotes this in the Book of Matthew, but saying that what is the meaning of Meekness and why is it even mentioned in the beatitudes?
Is it possibly describing someone who will avoid conflict at all costs, even forsaking that which is right? Or could it be something that announces itself with trumpets? Or could it be more like the Charles Dickens fictional character Uriah heap, the primary antagonist most notable for his cloying humility, unctuousness, obsequiousness, and insincerity, who can be found making frequent references to his own humble “umbleness”?
Join us as Pastor Roydon unpacks and describes true Christian Meekness, and gives us a small insight into why the Meek shall inherit the earth.
