What is the true reason for Christmas? We are surrounded by shopping, commerce, friends, family and the constant reminder that Christmas is about the people and the gifts we buy. However, the bible places importance on this man named Jesus. In today’s sermon, we like at Palm 107, a Psalm which reminds us that Christmas is about God’s salvation. A salvation that begins in the birth of a little baby. Jesus.
We begin by looking at the people of God and the historic moment of God’s people going into Exile. The feeling of hopelessness, the feeling of God not being with his people and the feeling of being utterly alone is something is what God’s people experienced and this is something we experience today. However, there is glorious hope in this passage.
