1 Corinthians 6: 9 - 20: As we come to this third part of the Pure Sex series, we are reminded of a couple of principles we’ve looked at so far from the bible. Firstly, God does not see sex as dirty, he created it. Secondly, marriage is between one man and one woman (Genesis 2). Thirdly, sex is not God, it’s not the purpose of life. Fourthly, Jesus went against homosexual practice when he quotes Genesis 1 and 2. He describes humanity as being made both male and female and says that a man will one day leave his parents to marry a woman.

In this sermon Martin Morrison shows us how our culture views sex and in response calls us to hear Paul who speaks of the value of our bodies and eternity. Like the Corinthian church, our cultural thinking on sex has stemmed from Platonism, which separates the spiritual world from the physical and places the physical secondary. This has resulted in us not seeing our bodies as important, doing what we wanted… this creates havoc and effects our eternity.

Thankfully there is an answer which the bible has, a cleansing that is welcome to all.
