1 Corinthians 7: 1 - 11: When it comes to same sex attraction, there are many lessons being taught by the world. “You are born gay and should not go against how you have been made”, “God wants you to be happy, so embrace your homosexuality” and “You can’t change who you are, you should just accept it”. In this sermon, Martin Morrison shows that there is a different teaching given from the bible and it’s a truth that provides great freedom.
In this passage, Paul touches on two opposing views on sex. One which says sex is wrong and the other which says singleness is wrong. Paul refutes both of these arguments, encouraging those struggling with sexual temptation to marry and have sex. Paul delights in those who are single. Martin uses this as a basis to not only speak to heterosexuals, but encourage those who suffer with same sex attraction to consider how God wants them to live.
