Everyone has expectations when they get in a relationship. When Jesus came saying he is setting a Kingdom of God, obviously there are expectations. To ancient Jews the expectation was a Kingdom with political influence coming to overthrow the Roman oppressive rule over Jews. In our contemporary society the idea of the Kingdom as a mustard seed invokes less patience as we expect what we selfishly desire. Despite many expectations we have, God’s work in the life of a Christian is slow, sure and overwhelming.
