Fresh off the heels of the Sunlounger remixes of Something Around you, Alexander Rhodes reimagines The Monodeluxe release “Got Away”. The Funkadelic remix takes the original vocal sample and the Fender rhodes line and marries them to some carefully curated beats.
In fact Alexander spent an entire Saturday scouring a collection of old soul and funk tunes to find quality breaks. He then set about chopping them up and programming a live feel break of his own. Add some synthwork and his own electric guitar topline, and the remix is a fresh version of the funky original.
Intentionally laid back, and very much meant for the chill out and sunset DJs!
