Tuesday, March 12, Jeffrey Mosher was on hand at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing Michigan for a reception and celebration program. A community leader, John O. Grettenberger, Sr. was recognized with the 2019 Sparrow Founders’ Award, Sparrow’s highest honor. The award is given to a Volunteer, community member, retired Caregiver or Physician who has made a positive impact on the health of the mid-Michigan region through their involvement with Sparrow.
Founders’ Day honors the spirit of our founders, the 114 charter members of the Women’s Hospital Association. These women opened the hospital’s doors on March 18, 1896, and the Founders’ Day celebration is held on or about this date to remember their vision and dedication. Past recipients of the Founders’ Award include the late Michigan State University hockey coach Ron Mason, business leaders Dick Iding and Alton and Janice Granger, and last year’s winner, James Butler III.
Shared here are some interviews and the celebration ceremony at the Gathering Place of Sparrow Hospital on March 12th.
