The Voice to Parliament has been touted as a progressive step forward for Indigenous rights in Australia, however the proposal does not address and is a distraction from the fundamental and significant issue of sovereignty.
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples have never ceded sovereignty to the Australian government.
