In this message from Isaiah 64:1-7, we explore a powerful post-exilic prayer of lament from a weary and spiritually discouraged people longing for God’s presence. Surrounded by ruins, wrestling with sin, and desperate for renewal, Judah’s cry reveals both their brokenness and their deep desire for God to move as He had in the past. This sermon challenges us to examine the distractions and idols that dull our hunger for God and calls us to aggressively “lay hold” of eternal life with focused resolve (1 Timothy 6:11-12). In seasons of transition and spiritual dryness, desperation for Jesus is not weakness but an act of faith.
