The human body has 3 different energy systems. Depending on the amount of power needed and the overall duration required for that activity, your body’s energy system shifts between 3 different pathways.
For example, whether you're throwing a straight punch to a heavy bag, performing a standing dumbbell bicep curl for 12 reps, or going for a 5 mile run, your body uses a different energy system.
Therefore, if you're training for a specific activity, focus on improving the energy system that you will tap into most for that goal.
