Episode 179 - The Podcast That Dreaded Lockdown
It’s actually pretty easy to draw some parallels between our current lockdown situation, and this week’s movie selections, The Town That Dreaded Sundown 1977 & 2014. People are holed up in their houses, afraid to step outside because an unseen menace threatens their safety. The communal sense of safety and trust has crumbled away amongst strangers, friends, and family alike. And although they don’t specifically mention it in either film, we can only assume that the good people of Texarkana were indeed still able to find a small amount of comfort, tucked away in their safe rooms, surrounded by mountains of precious precious toilet paper.
This week we grabbed some Restless Nights Bourbon Barrel Aged Coffee Porter, a collaboration between Boulevard Brewing and Modern Times Beer + Coffee, and hunkered down in our respective home studios for a proper, socially-distanced discussion about The Town That Dreaded Sundown. Cheers!
