Episode 187 - What A Richard! - Directors Spotlight: Richard Stanley
Typically when you say that someone is an absolute Richard, it’s meant as an insult. Like, “Don’t be such a Richard”, or “why don’t you ingest a satchel of Richards”, but every once in awhile an absolute Richard comes around and changes the entire meaning. Such is the case with the director in this week’s spotlight, the enigmatic and eccentric Richard Stanley. From casting rockstars in his early films, and pretty much losing his mind and fleeing to live in the woods during a shoot, to his recent triumphant return to the directors chair, Stanley is a director to whom we confidently say “we hope you continue being an absolute Richard”
