The Brvtalist is pleased to premiere a new track from Overlook & Karim Maas. After an extended hiatus, Standards & Practices returns with their first release of 2020 and the label’s first compilation. Much like the ethos of the imprint, Out of Practice Vol. 1 brings together friends and allies across the electronic music spectrum for a massive release which moves through different genres and sounds while still resembling similar DNA. Today we premiere, “Chalk” , an ultra-heavy breaks track from veteran’s Overlook & Karim Maas which hits deep and razes everything in its path. Also appearing on the compilation are Stave & Grebenstein, VSK, Todd Mattei as well as “7th Recording 29”, an ambient piece which represents Jonathan Krohn’s first recorded collaboration with long-time friend and associate Benjamin Mjolsness since their work together in the group Male. Overall this is a strong release from the label with a unique voice and exception cast of contributors.
