The Brvtalist is pleased to premiere a new track from Iris Forest. "Rise Up" comes off the new EP, 3:40, forthcoming on Berlin's WAAGE Records. The album is a short and clear description of the events taking place in Ukraine starting with the relative beginning - 24.02.2022 - the dark, menacing, spooky start, illustrating people's mood after the first russian bombs caused explosions in some Ukrainian cities. The whole release is a powerful journey through different moods, feelings and atmospheres creating an immersive experience through sound. Below we have included the artist's statement on the release and today we premiere the 4th track, "Rise Up".

"This experimental electronic EP of mine had been made after the beginning of a vicious, blood-shedding russian full-scale invasion to my homeland - Ukraine, inspired by both personal and collective national pain caused due to destruction, loss and multiple crimes committed by russia against my people. After fleeing from the city of Kharkiv to Germany in March, I got deeply focused on creating something, which would somewhat depict in a music form the tragic, horrendous things taking place in my motherland. Just as any other Ukrainian, deeply petrified and simultaneously outraged due to the genocide against our nation, I find it my greatest responsibility as an artist to draw people's attention to ferocities and war crimes that keep being committed by those savage perpetrators."
