BANANA invite you to peel slowly and see. Beyond having one of the best band titles, this Los Angeles based supergroup has created an alluring album of exotic instrumentals for Leaving Records. Josiah Steinbrick, Stephen Black, Huw Evans, Josh Klinghoffer, Cate Le Bon and Stella Mozgawa assembled to record Steinbrick's rhythmic pulsations on reel to reel tape. The collection opens with Banana A, a marimba-driven composition bouncing with brilliant modality. This piece premiered on RBMA Radio anchor Frosty's LAndscape program as part of a special examination of modern classical music from Los Angeles.
