One of Italy’s finest purveyors of jazzy and soulful house beats, Academy alumnus Broke One, returns this February with a new EP. ‘This Thing Called Reality’ collects four tasteful takes on Big Bait Records’ random color series with 555 individually colored records. “Don’t Fight the Feeling,” the second groove on the record’s A-side, is built around Herbie Hancock’s musings on what he learned about mistakes from Miles Davis. The tune itself bears strong traces of a jazz signature and will slide nicely into your crates next to the likes of Max Graef and Theo Parrish.
