Chasms formed in 2011 by Jess Labrador and Shannon Madden. This is off their second album for felte called The Mirage, it will be out February 22. The album marks a sonic shift into more minimalist, dub influence territory – lots of sparse guitars, tape delay and hypnotic loops. The album was recorded after loss for the duo -- both of Madden’s brother and a number of friends in the Oakland Ghost Ship fire, plus a divorce and relocation to Los Angeles. Mixed by Josh Eustis of Telefon Tel Aviv, mastered by Rafael Anton Irisarri.
