Portuguese producer Ghost Wavvves, who graduated from the Red Bull Music Academy in 2016, combines FlyLo-schooled hip-hop instrumental sensibilities with a nerdy passion for video game sounds in his music. On “Not Gonna Get Us,” his latest offering, Ghost Wavvves takes kawaii to the trap, melding punchy drums and towering synths with melodies so sweet they might lead to minor toothaches.
