Heathen Rites is a new project by RBMA alumnus Ross Tones AKA Throwing Snow, which debuts on UK label Injazero Records’ ‘INJACOMP001’ compilation. As the title suggests, “Pax Romana” provides a moment of relative calm in turbulent times, though an element of danger still lingers in the track’s monumental, droning wall of sound. Based on a number of hardware improvisations, Heathen Rites is a very personal project for Ross, as he says. “It’s darker in texture and more contemplative but it can also be quite brutal.”
