In anticipation of his Legendary EP, out February 10th on stalwart Philadelphia label Seclusiasis, RBMA alumni HomeSick debuts the imposing lead track "Our Storm."
An alumni of the 2015 Red Bull Music Academy in Paris, the Calgary-based producer otherwise known as Shaun McHale keeps busy running his Percolate party as well as the Footwork Jungle mix series, which celebrated its 40th edition in late 2016. "Our Storm" emphasizes a vocal sample taken from David Lynch's Dune, and the oppressive weather quickly arrives in the form of HomeSick's speaker-shaking basslines and belching synthesizers. The energy expands with the addition of wet snaps and a stuttering footwork kick, creating ample space for the disorienting detail that makes the synth's eventual return that much more overpowering.
