Ever since graduating from the Red Bull Music Academy 2014 in Tokyo, Turkish sound artist Ipek Gorgun has been refining her craft consistently. Following her first solo LP, ‘Aphelion’ and her collaborative album with Ceramic TL (Egyptrixx), ‘Perfect Lung,’ ‘Ecce Homo’ marks the next step in her impressive development. The album arrives via Touch, the UK electronic and experimental powerhouse known for releases by Ryoji Ikeda, Biosphere, Phil Niblock and Hildur Guðnadóttir, to name but a few. Currently enrolled in a doctoral program of Sonic Arts in Istanbul, Gorgun and her head-spinning compositions slot right in with the label’s trailblazing talent and “Tserin Dopchut” proves the point: Washes of sound envelop the listener from all angles, conjuring an evocative universe of pleasure and pain.
