As producer and vocalist, 2013 RBMA grad @jiminxir has been carving out a lane for himself at the most inspired end of the leftfield-R&B spectrum. His latest offering, the 5-track 'Ghouxse.' EP, is a brooding and crackling affair that strikes a darker tone than most of what we've heard from the young artist so far.
On "The Things That Happen When You Care", which we're happy to premiere here, Jimi removes his vocals from the picture and gives us a pensive instrumental piece. The track chugs along meditatively, erecting a solemn, trip-hop-indebted soundscape that recalls an abandoned New York City subway tunnel deep into a hazy weekday night.
