If we're talking about Sea Levels, then EP opener "Deep City" sees Melbourne-based producer @klokeuk emerge from a sub-oceanic plateau of disorienting crackle and outwardly pulsating detection blips into the first faint specks of daylight.
The recent Red Bull Music Academy graduate creates an enveloping swirl of cyclical noise, gently guiding it towards the surface with ponderous dub bass and an unrelenting snare hiss.
Kloke's distinct ex-pat view of the UK sound galaxy has been described as distilling "the urban groove and bucolic mood of his heritage through the vibrancy of his new environs into a wholly unique soundscape." On "Deep City", the promise holds true, as Kloke adventurously pieces together bits of shrubbery, making for a fascinating vivisection of slouching, dub-inflected, subaquatic house.
