South London’s Mr. Mitch returns to his own Gobstopper label this month with a melancholy counterpoint to last year's "Devout". Where that album celebrated family and fatherhood, "Primary Progressive"
finds the producer thinking about his own dad, who has been coping with a form of multiple sclerosis that gives the EP its name. "Phantom Dance" is the record's central pulse, an ice-cold dembow shuffle built in Mitch's characteristically sparse style, its mournful melody shot through with laser-like kicks and synthbursts. The EP is out in full on 26th October.
