Description

Russia’s NV floored us at the 2014 Tokyo Academy with her finely tuned sensibility for perfect, left-of-center pop melodies. Now the Moscow-based songstress is gearing up for the release of her debut album on Dayton, Ohio’s Orange Milk Records, and we couldn’t be more thrilled about the prospect.

“Dance,” the second taste off ‘Binasu,’ is a labyrinthine pop gem that charms the listener with glowing, chirpy synths and breathy vocals. Its staccato phrasings recall the work of Roberto Cacciapaglia while also serving as a reverent nod to 1980s art pop made in Japan. Glimpses of imposing grandeur find their way into an intricately layered composition of infectious rhythms and ethereal melodies. Chances are you’re gonna find yourself going back to this one, over and over again.

NV’s ‘Binasu’ album is out February 26th on Orange Milk Records. Pre-order it here:
