Over the past few years, Seattle’s @kidsmpl has exhibited a keen ear for sonically marrying the delicately emotive with the unsettlingly abrasive. On his remix for Greek brother-sister duo @ocean-hope — which we’re happy to premiere here — the Academy alum continues down that well-proven path. Bathing the sweetly melancholic dream pop of the original in bursts of white noise and overbalancing drum patterns, Kid Smpl manages to lift the track to a higher, cathartic plain.
