Whenever Tokyo-based RBMA alum Ryota Miyake alerts us to a new project of his, our ears perk up. Whether with his solo work as Sparrows, as a member of new wave synth band Crystal, or as part of Japanese-Colombian pop group Flash Amazonas, Miyake never fails to impress. 'Mellow Computers', his new solo EP as Saco & Uno, sees Miyake veer more strictly into electronic territory. Taken from this latest record, "Searching for the Memory" is an excellent demonstration of Miyake's musical originality and his ability to balance dense rhythmic patterns with melodic flourishes that are simply addictive.
