Unexpectedly inspired by Balenciaga’s 1950s Empire Line – an iconic collection of womenswear – the Scandinavian duo of Jonas Rönnberg (AKA Northern Electronics artist Varg) and Christian Stadsgaard (half of Damien Dubrovnik and co-founder of the Posh Isolation label) have created a brittle winter series of textured drones and crystallized noise. On January 23, the Empire Line will release their first EP via Shifted's Avian label, featuring the icy, abstract "Jewelry Armoire." The track debuted on Discreet Music, our weekly exploration of experimental music.
