Currently based in São Paulo, @thingamajicks is one of four artists in the RBMA Class of 2015 hailing from Brazil. His latest piece, which we’re happy to premiere here, is a sprawling behemoth of a track that makes us excited to have this guy on board for Paris this fall.
Steeped in gloomy dungeon aesthetics, "Aliens & Anorexia" is a masterpiece of immersive drone sorcery. Over the course of its 25-minute playing time, the piece unfurls barely a handful of musical themes and sound sequences, but twists, filters and wrangles them to perplexing effect.
