‘Descend in Chains’, the new release by Torus, reflects the Dutch RBMA alumni’s “personal fascination for the semantics and semiotics of religion” and its relation to capitalism. The spiritual undertones are apparent on “Earth”, Torus’ collaboration with fellow Academy grad Malibu. A sacral choir greets the listener in the track’s opening seconds, gradually communing with exalted piano chords and Malibu’s own divine incantations.
Torus’ ‘Descend in Chains’ is out as a free release July 17th.
