An alumnus of the 2014 Academy in Tokyo, The Hague-based producer Torus is set to release a new EP on Amsterdam imprint Rwina this week. On EP opener “Start”, which we’re happy to premiere here, Torus once again proves his aptitude for weaving ethereal shreds of R&B vocals into glistening synthscapes. The track connects the dots between futuristic hip-hop production, trance nostalgia and gutsy, “weightless” experimentalism and sets the tone for the cheekily titled ‘ENGINE MALFUNCTION MUSIC VOL. X [NO DJ]’ in high definition.
